Some background

Dave Hilton Roberts

After graduating, I embarked on an exhilarating journey through the dynamic landscape of London’s design scene, honing my skills at a series of small studios. This thrilling path led me to a pivotal role as a designer at The Economist Newspaper, where I immersed myself in nearly a decade of creative mastery. My contributions spanned a multitude of design elements—from captivating illustrations and striking layouts to compelling image commissioning and photography.

Transitioning to independent design was a thrilling leap, and I quickly secured projects with esteemed clients such as Practical Law Firm, Baker & McKenzie, and the Medical Defence Union, serving a diverse array of London-based businesses and institutions, both large and small.

A significant collaboration with the renowned south London printer, Battley Brothers, opened the door to partnerships with internationally acclaimed institutions like Sadler’s Wells, The Royal Opera House, Almeida Theatre, Barbican Centre, and the legendary Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies.

During this time, I also collaborated with some of the nation's most prestigious schools, including Dulwich College, St Mary’s Ascot, St Paul’s School and London Prep Schools. This led to an exciting mix of commissions, encompassing everything from innovative branding to impactful magazines and ambitious fundraising literature for building projects.

Based in London, my work now spans the UK and reaches global corners as far as Texas and Florida. I thrive on collaboration and remain open to forging reciprocal business relationships. The prospect of my next commission invigorates me, each project a new adventure waiting to unfold.
